Procedures

          In our daily lives, we always need a procedures. For example, at the home, we need procedures when cooking fried chicken, noodles, or make a cake. At the school, students need and aply procedures when they do an experiment or apply for scholarship.  We can also find procedural texts on a electronic product, like how to operate a calculator, television, computer, laptop, freezer, etc. So what do you know about procedures?

           A procedure is a text to describe how something is done through a sequence of actions or steps. The structure of the text is: Aim/goal, materials or ingredients, and steps or direction.

1.     Aim or goal: The aim that we will do. Such us: Make a noodles, Make an Underwater Volcano, etc. this part, generally there are at the first paragraph or as title our project that we will do.

2.     Materials or ingredients: Materials we will need in our project.

3.    Steps or direction: The steps to get success in our project.

The language features of a procedure are:

·         Use action verbs. e.g. spread, pour, add, etc.

·         Linking words and phrases expressing sequence. e.g. first, after that, next, next, then, final, etc.

·         Adverbials such as: gently, immedietly, as soon as, etc.

Example:

How to Make a Greeting Card

Materials:

·        Hard paper

·        Various stickers

·        Coloring pens

Instructions:

·        Fold the paper into two.

·        Decorate the front page with the various stickers.

·        Open the paper.

·        Write the name of receiver of the card at the upper part with coloring pens so it’s look interesting.

·        After that, write your messages in the center part under it.

·        Don’t forget to write the name of the sender of the card under it.

·        Your greeting card is ready to send

How to Insert SIM Card Cell Phone

            Cell phone is a modern communication device which connects one to the others by voice, written massage, and data. However this device can’t work until the SIM card is inserted. When inserting the SIM Card to cell phone, make sure that the cell phone has been switched off and follow the direction bellow :

1.     First of all, press the locking catch and slide the cover then lift it off the phone

2.     After that, push two catches in the opposite directions and remove the battery.

3.     Next, slide the SIM Card carefully into the slot and make sure that golden connect arson are facing to the connector of the cell phone.

4.     Then, put the battery and align it until snaps into its place.

5.     Finally, insert the two catches of the back cover corresponding slot in the phone and slide the cover forward button of the phone until locks into place. Don’t forget to switch on the cell phone. Wait until it ready to use.
